Michael LiPetri is running for the New York State Assembly to reform the high-tax, reckless spending and corruption-plagued climate of our State government. An experienced attorney, Michael has successfully prosecuted or aided the prosecution of criminals for tax fraud, drug trafficking, and disability discrimination while working for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York, Albany County District Attorney and the Attorney General of the State of New York. Michael knows first-hand the integrity that is needed to root out and prevent public corruption in our State Capital.

As our next Assemblyman, Michael LiPetri will fight to cut spending, reduce entitlements and decrease New York’s property taxes which are some of the highest in the nation. He will work to create new job opportunities by incentivizing small business growth and eliminating burdensome regulations. Michael is driven by a desire to positively impact people’s lives so that they succeed in their own endeavors. Michael will fight to secure more funding for Long Island public and private schools, create new downtown housing opportunities for young families and stand up to the Assembly Democrats who seek to drain Long Island of its tax base. Michael will support common-sense legislation that protects our suburban quality of life by providing more state funding to protect Long Island’s aquifer, fast-track cleanup of the Grumman-Navy plume and combat the spread of vacant and dilapidated homes.

A former Assistant Corporation Counsel for the New York City Law Department, Michael has defended police officers, firefighters, and correctional officers from frivolous claims. Having worked in partnership with law enforcement, Michael knows that State laws tie the hands of our police officers. As our next State Assemblyman, Michael will advocate for the additional resources needed to combat the proliferation of MS-13 and heroin in our neighborhoods. Unlike Christine Pellegrino, Michael opposes laws to make New York a “Sanctuary State,” protecting and rewarding illegal immigrants with taxpayer money while neglecting the law-abiding citizen. Michael will also advocate against Democrat efforts in Albany to provide free college tuition for illegal aliens – which takes up seats and takes away opportunities from our residents.

Michael is a life-long resident of the South Farmingdale and Massapequa area. He holds a Juris Doctorate from Albany Law School of Union University and a Bachelor’s Degree from the State University of New York at Albany. Michael LiPetri is very involved in our community. He volunteers his time as a member or contributor for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Sons of Italy, Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, Sons of AmVets, Massapequa Chamber of Commerce and the Long Island Association. In recognition for his efforts and services to both the business and civic community, Michael LiPetri was recognized by Long Island Business News as an exceptional upcoming leader on Long Island.
